Walk and Talk Wrap Ups
DOG LOVERS 30th May AGES 45–55 PALMY
What can we say about this morning's inaugural Palmy Walk and Talk?
WHAT. A. DAY. 🎉
Fifteen walkers.Seven men.Eight women. One doggo. And enough banter to power Palmerston North for a week.
From the moment everyone arrived, the vibe was on. Conversations flowed, laughter echoed down the paths, and complete strangers somehow managed to feel like old friends within minutes. We even had a bonus trainee host today! Not only did he fit right in, but with one less guy than girl, he jumped into the rotations and helped keep the chats flowing. It was also great getting a male perspective from the host side of the fence.Having two hosts meant we could actually take photos instead of sprinting between pairings trying to remember who was supposed to be talking to who. 😂The route itself was fantastic. Quiet pathways, beautiful weather and hardly another soul around. We did have a couple of moments where our carefully planned route became more of a "general direction" than a route, but everyone seemed to enjoy the adventure. Clearly "professional winging it" is a perfectly acceptable navigation strategy. The coffee afterwards was just as good as the walk. Huge thanks to the Esplanade Café for looking after us so well. The tables were ready, the coffee was flowing, and the conversations just kept going. In fact, our hosts were barely needed for the coffee chats. You lot absolutely had it covered. One thing that really stood out was how many people already had friends booked into the other Walk and Talk age groups happening this weekend. We can only imagine the note-comparing happening around dinner tables tonight. Honestly, we'd pay good money to be a fly on the wall for some of those conversations. 😂And then came the icing on the cake...🥳 FIVE MATCHES! 🥳Not bad for Palmy's very first Walk and Talk.To everyone who came along: thank you. You brought the energy, the positivity, the humour and the willingness to give something new a go.
Palmy, if this is how you're starting, we cannot wait to see what happens next. ❤️
WALK AND TALK MAY 30th 2026 Ages 55–65 PALMY
Well... you lot certainly know how to keep us guessing! 😂We often say every Walk and Talk throws us a curve ball, and this morning's walk decided to throw us the entire cricket set! Earlier in the week we weren't even sure we had enough men to run the event. After much chasing, messaging, encouraging, and perhaps a small amount of begging, we finally got the numbers we needed and breathed a collective sigh of relief. Five men. Six women.Lovely.Until...One gentleman had a family emergency. Another got called into work. Then five minutes before kick-off, our third man messaged to say he'd thought the walk was an hour later and was currently nowhere near ready to leave the house.Just like that, our five men became two. Now, in all the walks we've run, this is the first time we've ever headed off with just two blokes, but credit where credit's due — those two gentlemen turned up, rolled with it, and spent the morning chatting their way around the group like seasoned professionals. Their social batteries definitely earned a rest afterwards! 😆 The ladies, as always, were absolute stars. They took it all in their stride, enjoyed the walk, and reminded us that finding quality single people our age isn't always easy. The walk itself was lovely, with another beautiful autumn morning putting on a show for us. Afterwards we headed back for coffee, where the conversations continued and several of the ladies asked to exchange numbers and made new friendships — something we see quite often on these walks. As always, our Connection Guarantee means anyone who didn't meet someone they clicked with can join a second walk free of charge, and we'd love to see these lovely ladies back again when hopefully a few more men manage to arrive at the starting line next time! 😂 Every walk teaches us something, every group is different, and every event brings new connections — even platonic ones.- Onwards to the next one! 🌿❤️
WALK AND TALK
May 31st 2026 Ages 35–45 Palmy
A couple of observations from this walk...1️⃣ Palmy, you are a good-looking bunch!Seriously. We had three ladies attend (after one last-minute cancellation) and they were absolute stunners. The five guys who came along certainly weren't complaining about their chat buddies for the morning! 😏
2️⃣ The men outnumbered the women!A Walk and Talk first!Usually numbers are even, or we sneak in a few extra ladies if space allows because women often leave with something unexpected — a few new friends as well as potential dates. 😊
With uneven numbers, the guys spent a couple of rotations chatting with each other and us hosts. Those turned into some surprisingly entertaining group conversations. They'd already worked out that talking to three real women in an hour was still a far better result than most dating app statistics. 📱➡️👣
As for the matches? The match cards gave us a good laugh. Girl 1 picked Guy 3, Guy 3 picked Girl 2, Guy 2 picked Girl 1... you get the picture. 🤣
No mutual matches this time, and as always, if interest isn't reciprocated, nobody's details are shared. A few people didn't make any clicks, so they'll receive a freebie for a second walk. We know finding someone you vibe with can sometimes take a couple of goes, and we don't do pressure — on us or on you. 👌The weather turned it on, the pace was quick, and our energetic 35–45 crew smashed through the route so fast we arrived back at the café before they were ready for us! ☕😂A huge thank you to the Esplanade team who rolled with our early arrival curveball, sorted takeaway cups after, and everyone enjoyed some post-walk chats with water in the meantime😉
Walk and Talk May 16th 45-55 & 30-45 Wellington
Two walks. One wrap-up. You’ll see why in a sec 😅🚶♂️🚶♀️
This morning kicked off with our 45–55 walk, followed by the 30–45 group shortly after.
The first group was assembled right on time… almost 😂 We still had one man and one woman missing at start time. You all know how punctual we are — mainly because if we waited around every time someone got cold feet or hit traffic, we’d still be standing in the carpark by lunchtime 😅
Just before leaving, I spotted a message from Mr R saying he “couldn’t make the 9am sharp time.” Very mysterious wording 😂 So we told him to try locate our moving convoy once he arrived.
Off we set — and the walk itself was awesome ☀️ Great chats, laughs, familiar faces returning, and one walker even booked BOTH walks because he loves his steps and meeting new people 👏
Meanwhile Mr J was doing his third walk after two unlucky attempts where “his people” weren’t there… but today? Eureka! Two matches 😂 Third time lucky.
After settling group one into their post-walk coffee ☕ at Turmeric Café, I headed back for walk number two.
On the way, I checked messages and found Miss O — our earlier no-show — had been caught in traffic and asked if she could join the second walk instead. Perfect timing.
11:30 rolled around and she still hadn’t quite made it… but two minutes into walk two, a puffed-up Miss O came sprinting toward the convoy 😂 Traffic chaos, childcare juggle, but she finally made it and slotted straight into some well-earned adult conversation 😊
Second walk, same great vibe — just smaller, so we did two rotations and played “where did we get to last convo?” along the way.
Back at Turmeric Café, we’d kept everyone so busy they ran out of milk 😅 Sorry Deepak.
5 matches ✔️Spontaneous additions ✔️Nailed it ✔️
And THAT is how today’s two walks somehow turned into one entertaining crossover episode ❤️

Walk and Talk April 25th 2026 Ages 55-65 Wellington
It’s a kind of magic 🎵As I say at the start of just about every walk — you guys always find new curveballs to throw at me… and this one did not disappoint 😅We were barely four minutes in, hadn’t even made it through the park, when I turned around to see a massive chasm forming between the first four pairs and the second four.
I gave it a minute… thought it might naturally close. It did not.So I left Mr J in charge of holding the pace and shimmied my way down the convoy to investigate. Halfway down, I spot Mr A hot-footing it solo.“Where’s your dance partner?”Thumb over the shoulder… “Back there.”
Cue roller-skate mode — I zipped back to find Miss D parked up on a bench with a wee injury. No worries — we rolled with it. Plan B: enjoy the scenery, we’ll catch you up at the café after ☕
Crisis handled, we regrouped and carried on… and just like that — great chats, great banter, plenty of laughs.
But here’s the juicy bit… 👀Two walkers who had previously met (and matched!) found themselves crossing paths again. Life may have paused things the first time… but let’s just say — given that my first ever A at school was in chemistry… I was definitely witnessing some sort of reaction.I saw it… and later when I was doing the post walk match up cards - confirmed it via print💥And the total results of the walk?5 matches.- Particles + correct orientation + energy → successful collision ⚗️🔥

This walks theme? ANIMATIONNow… we always have a great vibe on these walks — but today? It had an extra spark.Call it sunshine, maybe there was a full moon last night 🌕… but whatever it was you guys brought the most animated energy we’ve seen yet. The chats were awesome — unfiltered, real, and completely yourselves. And when the group leans into that like you did, it lifts everything. It was especially awesome with so many newbies joining us. They didn’t just ease in — they fully embraced the relaxed, casual flow we’re all about 💛We did have one very committed doggo keeping things interesting early on 🐕💩 — a few “business stops” in the first 20 minutes brought a bit of chaos… but by now, we roll with that like pros. It’s all part of the Walk and talk flow. And that’s the magic of it… it doesn’t need to be perfect to work.As always, every guy had the chance to chat with every woman — which is what really matters. A little bit of freestyle movement actually made things feel even more relaxed and natural, and you could see conversations just unfolding without pressure.A special mention to one of our guys who came back for his second walk — and even better, his people were there today too, so he got matched this time. We were genuinely thrilled for him. That’s exactly what this is all about 💛And the results?5 matches today.Every walk keeps proving the same thing — when you show up, good things happen.

Walk and Talk April 3rd 2026 45-55 age group Wellington
- Well… that was a goodie 🌿👣
- .
- After last week’s debacle, I came prepared — full swap plan (yes, with a diagram 😅)… and it worked! Seamless.
- We had 7 women and 6 men — a real mix of truck drivers, printers, office folk, teachers, tradies… and one very unconventional “throat organ” musician (still not entirely sure, but we’re into it 😄).
- The vibe? Spot on.
- The guys got on so well they had us swapping numbers for them by the end — with plans for a beer catch-up 🍻 (we love that).
- Shoutout to Mr M, who came sprinting in late to catch our moving group — when we say 9am start, we mean it 😅 He slotted in like a pro.
- I walked with our “extra” lovely lady, which I secretly love — it’s a great chance to actually chat.
- And the result? 5 matches.
- Possibly our best yet 👀
- Easy, natural, fun — exactly what this is about.
- - Same again next time? 💚
Dog Lovers March 21st 2026 55 plus age group Wellington
Our 55+ Dog Lovers group headed out, and a little unpredictability kept things lively 😅 One guy no-showed, so I stepped in as the “stand-in gentleman” for the rotations — got to enjoy some lovely chats with the ladies!
Three people returned using their Connection Guarantee, which was great for catching up with familiar faces. Dog count? Just one 🐕 — the other stayed home due to… well, doggy reasons 😄
In classic chaos style, I nearly walked face-first into a road sign 😳 Luckily, Mr S saved me just in time. At coffee, Mr J surprised me with flowers — smooth and unexpected 🌸
A kind, easy-going group, a few curveballs, lots of laughter… and 4 matches this time 😊 - Chivalry isn’t dead… it’s just on a walk 🐾🌸

Well… that escalated quickly 😅🐾
For the first time ever, we had two last-minute no-shows from the guys, which threw the balance and had me thinking on my feet as host. Did we have a perfectly structured rotation system? Absolutely not. Did I get my steps in sprinting up and down the group? Absolutely yes 💨 Did I funnel everyone down a narrow alleyway to regain order? Also yes 😅
Add in a few very committed sniffy doggos 🐕, and the group stretched out far more than usual. But every guy still chatted with every woman, there were zero awkward silences, and the ladies even made new single friends along the way.
So, while a little “freestyle,” the connections happened — laughter, chats, and one match ❤️. - Note to self: tighter game plan next time 😅

As the host, I never get sick of the banter drifting up from the group behind me — it genuinely makes me smile from the inside 😊I have to say, the guys were really front-footing it with their conversation game today. I could hear some great questions being asked and some really thoughtful chats unfolding.I didn’t manage to get everyone in the picture frame today as there was quite a spread, but you get the gist.We had a beautifully diverse group this morning — a real mix of cultures and backgrounds — which was awesome to see and added so much to the vibe 🌍✨Once again, the feedback was spot on: relaxed, easy, no pressure.Five guys, five girls. We simply got out there, walked, talked, laughed, and made some new connections. No awkward setups. No forced moments. Just people being people.
- This walk had more flavour than a food court 💛
Dog Lovers February 7th 2026 60 plus age group Wellington
Not a great pic this time — everyone spread out on the walk, so we couldn’t get everyone in the shot — but what a fantastic group today: super friendly, outgoing, and such a great vibe from the start. There was definitely an active lifestyle feel. One guy casually mentioned he’d just finished Park Run before joining us — and honestly, that’s exactly what Walk and Talk is about.✔ No dressing up✔ No overthinking✔ Just come as you areDo a few chores, take a break for a relaxed walk and chat, then head back feeling refreshed. One of my favourite moments was welcoming back a lady using her Connection Guarantee — she made a fantastic match with another fitness-loving walker 💛We also had two widowed walkers join us — a privilege to be part of this journey for them stepping back into meeting new people.
- Plus… dog cuddles 🐩 and a cosy coffee to finish the morning.
Walk and Talk January 24th 2026 45-55 age group Wellington
Despite the rain 🚶♂️🌈 doing its best to scare us off this morning, we decided to embrace the experience.
We emailed everyone at 8am when it looked like the weather might hold, with one optional backup plan: bring your brollies ☔What followed was a shorter but refreshing walk — brollies up, brollies down — and plenty of lovely, old-school chivalry, with the guys happily holding umbrellas over the women they were chatting with. Honestly, it was pretty great to see.
We also had two men back for their Connection Guarantee freebie, and we’re delighted to say they both got matched this time 🎉 Proof that showing up really does matter.
So there we were — a rainy morning, new conversations, and people putting themselves in opportunity’s way. And really, what better way to spend a wet morning?
- Rainy days don’t mess with our mojo 💪
Dog Lovers January 17th 2026 35-45 age group Wellington
We had just one doggo today 🐶 — a sweet rehome. She was a little nervous but super cute and became the ultimate icebreaker, actually stealing the spotlight ✨As the host at the front, I got to overhear some lovely little chats, and I must say — there were some really great conversations happening. Kudos to the guys for asking thoughtful questions 💬At one point, I turned around and noticed animated arm movements as people really hit their verbal stride 😄We also had a guy who hadn’t made any connections on his first walk a few weeks ago. Thanks to our “connection guarantee,” he came back for his second walk free — and this time, his people were there! Delighted to say we got him matched 😄That makes 3 matches in total today 💛For those who didn’t match, it simply wasn’t your people — completely normal. We can’t wait to see you next time, our shout 📣
- That’s the magic of second chances ✨
Dog Lovers January 10th 2026 55 plus age group Wellington
Today’s walk was exactly what Walk and Talk is meant to be: easy, human, a little chaotic — and genuinely lovely. We had four very good doggos join us. One briefly chose freedom, so we paused while he was found, with a few “FORE!” calls and some classic dog-owner moments along the way. Dog people get it 😄We also had a last-minute cancellation, so the host stepped in again and ended up having some really lovely chats as the group rotated. At one point, two of the guys had accidentally paired up deep in conversation, while the women they were meant to be chatting with had paired up too — and honestly, perfect. That’s Walk and Talk. Low pressure, a bit of smooth chaos, and conversations that happen naturally. We regrouped, finished with a coffee, and yes — two matches ✔Thanks to everyone who came along, humans and dogs alike 🐾💛
Dog Lovers December 20th 2025 45-55 age group. Wellington
No photos today — a last-minute cancellation meant our host stepped in as a stand-in, which actually turned into a lovely chance to properly connect with the women as they rotated through the group. What a great bunch.
We had a relaxed, friendly walk, two very good doggos (a French bulldog and a Mastiff cross who were absolute sweethearts), and some genuinely easy, natural conversations throughout.
And yes… two matches today. Not just polite interest either — real early chemistry.
One walker even shared that “oh wow, I want to reach for his hand” moment while they were walking side by side. It’s always a reminder that you never really know who you might meet — and sometimes all it takes is one hour out of your day to find out.
Thanks to everyone who came along today and trusted the process.
- Same gentle magic, every time 💛

What a fantastic morning! We even had three matches this time.We had a mix of paces in the group, including a sweet 13-year-old pooch who needed a few slow-down moments (which we happily embraced).Everyone naturally spaced out for semi-private chats, which worked really well. Our host definitely got her steps in — weaving through the group, swapping walking partners, and keeping everything flowing. We managed two full swaps, giving everyone a second chance to reconnect and continue earlier conversations. It kept things light, natural, and fun.No big dating energy — just relaxed, side-by-side chats while moving. The feedback was amazing, with everyone saying how easy and un-awkward it felt. Some headed off after the walk (totally fine!), while the rest stayed for a free group coffee to finish the morning. Thanks to everyone who joined us — what a vibe. Can’t wait for the next one! 😍
Walk and Talk October 26th 2025 45-55 age group Wellington
Our very first Walk and Talk went ahead this weekend — and what a morning!
6 awesome singles, plenty of laughs, real chats, and even a couple of matches already.
A huge thank-you to everyone who came along and took a chance on something new. You helped create such a relaxed, easy vibe — and proved there’s a better way to meet people than sitting behind a screen.
It was simple, natural, and genuinely fun. No pressure, no awkward setups — just good people, fresh air, and easy conversation.
For those asking how it works: it’s just a walk, a series of mini one-on-one chats, and the chance to see if there’s a spark ⚡We guide the flow so everyone gets time to connect, but it never feels forced.Safe to say… this is just the beginning. Can’t wait for the next one!
